I went a curry restaurant "curry Kusamakura" on December 28th with my friends of high school. He came tokyo from Niigata, my hometown. I enjoyed meeting again after long time.
This restaurant located in shinjuku, tokyo. The place is little difficult to find, but I could find and enjoyed curry.
Kusamakura was located in second floor of building. The signboard is yellow, we can find it easily if we in near this restaurant. The outside appearance isn't so beautiful from this reason, but inside is very good.
After I went up stairs, I found long line for waiting. I waited in stairs, but the smells of spices were very good from restaurant.
Somehow I entered in restaurant, we gave the menu of dishes. There are under 20 seats and the style are very different each. The interesting point is there are many unique books on the table in center of the restaurant. I found rare spice book of food and unique fortune books.
Before I wrote, this restaurant serve curry only, but the kinds are so many. There are curry that vegetalian can eat. After then, we were asked order and we ordered chicken curry in 3 levels of hot. My friends ordered 2 levels of hot. (There aren't limit of hot. I know the highest order is 100 from menu. I'm very afraid...) Chicken curry are most popular in Kusamakura. (The price is ¥750)
We seated sunken kotatsu style table. Shortly after, the curry was served with japanese rice.
The taste is very organic but spicy. I felt onions are melting in curry. I think the style is between indian and japanese. Chicken was very deep taste and tender. Rice isn't watery, so it suit with curry. I ate 2 levels mouthful, the taste was different from 3.
When we paid money to the staff, we were gave pine candy that are popular in Japan. I'm very happy and want to go again to order other curry.

Genre Analysis
Hello!
I'm very sorry to absent this year's last class.
I was caused gastroenter last wednesday.
I want you to care about your diet again.
I'm going to go back to my hometown, Niigata in this winter vacation.
I know my hometown is covered with snow.
I want to do snow shobeling for my parents and neighbors.
Today I will analyze a restaurant review that "Patois: When this Jamaican-Chinese-Canadian kitchen goes off-menu, good things happen."(http://www.theglobeandmail.com/life/food-and-wine/restaurant-reviews/patois-when-this-jamaican-chinese-canadian-kitchen-goes-off-menu-good-things-happen/article20578701/?cmpid=rss1)
Patois is Jamaican-Chinese-Canadian restaurant in Toronto.
Their contains chinese essense on the bottom, too.
Does the reviewer show any special "insider" knowledge of the chefs or the restaurants's plans for the future?
They didn't show any special "insider" knowledge about the chefs or the restaurant's plans for the future. But he introduced the chefs and the restaurant in very detail. We can read this review smoothly like watching television in our lives.
What is the writing style of the review?
I think his writing style is not so complex. It's like narration of television. Then he pointed out some problems of this restaurant. We tend to evaluate the taste of dishes only in restaurant reviews. But I feel these evaluation is essential.
Does the reviewer include a convenient grid?
No, they didn't show a convenient grid in this review. But they showed prices of the foods that they ate. I think if the grid is, this review will be more useful and understandable for visiting.
What additional information can you find out about the restaurant from their website?
I found business hours of them in New Year's holiday. They did facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We can check their special menu or special business hours form them. I think these SNS service are very popular around the world now, so their practical use connect to their prosperity.
Based on the review, would you and your partner like to try this restaurant?
I want to go to this restaurant. I came to know their furnish very delicious food in this restaurant. I'm interested in steak of this restaurant. But I'm worry about the volume of music. He wrote it is very loud. I think this is not so good for old people.
Next, I will analyze a video "Vegan Restaurant Review Sadie's Diner".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rN09G0E5eV4
What is focused on in the review?
They focused on the dishes of "sadie's dinner". They ordered some foods and drink. From these things, we can know their restaurant style and taste in detail.
How does it differ from the written review in presentation and content? What does have it have in common among these two?
The biggest difference is there are two reviewers, Brock and Marta. They are husband and wife. They ordered different menu, so we can know more dishes than one person review. And they didn't introduce the chef of restaurant. I could know the foods of this restaurant are very good, so I want to know the chef.
Are chefs, owners, managers, or restaurant staff featured in the video?
No, they aren't featured in this video. I think this is essential point of restaurant review from written review. I imagine the chef or staff aren't so bad from their enjoyable atmosphere. But I want to hear the opinions of chefs for their restaurant.
What criticisms do you have of the video?
I want feature the chefs or staffs of this restaurant. I think the taste of dishes are important, but the atmosphere is very important for eating or drinking. However I enjoyed their harmonious atmosphere.

Food Ethics
Hello!
I'm continue to reading "Food Ethics".
Today I will introduce a video related to my book.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT0SwNXIsmo
In this video, many facts about food ethics in America are showed.
In the first half, McDonald's was introduced as an example of American food ethics. McDonald's growned a big food company today. For this growth, they had many developments. (ex. to have almost same menu around the world etc)
In the Middle half, the theme was changed to "How is this making people sick?"
These days foods are very related to be sick. Food is a essential for our body, so it's closely connect to us. Food poisoning caused many people sick in a short period time. The FDA(U.S. Food and Drug Administration) conducted foods safety.
Next theme is "Diabetes and Obesity". It showed us 99% of products at the super market are foreign products. There are 76 millions case of foodborne illness in America.(325.000 hospitalized, 5,000 death) Fast or processed food accout for American foods. It have the "fat" problem, too. This is the problem caused by McDonalds's, too.
In the last section of this video, the solutions are showed. People should eat locally grown foods. For this thing, the education is important for teaching children to what appropriate foods for us.
I think these education is need in Japan, too. Food poisoning are familiar problem from before. We should more careful about what we eat.

NeverSeconds
Hello! Winter will become soon, we should have more warmer ourselves and take care of not to cause cold.
Today I will analyze a blog "NeverSeconds".
http://neverseconds.blogspot.jp/
What do you think of Martha Payne and what she accomplished?
I was very surprised at the writer of this blog is a little girl!
The content was too enrich and she accomplished to realize us food's importance and priceless things in our lives.
What are your memories of your school lunches?
I'm in mind that a campaign that served old style school lunches when I was a elementary school student in Niigata, my hometown.
I ate fried whale and I remembered the taste was very good.
But now, eating whale in Japan is becoming a world problem.
I think this is very rare experience.
Did you feel that you had any input on the nature or quality of your school lunches?
I feel my elementary school had input on the nature.
I experienced rice and vegetable cultivation when I was two year student in it.
This is a good experience to know we eat foods by someone's efforts.
What do you think of the dining facilities at AGU and how do you think they can be improved?
I think it is too crowd in lunch time every day.
The reason is not to exploit adequately the space of cafeteria.
The menu is good, so I wish only the use of space.
What creative way(s) do you think we (individually or as AGU students) can help others in the world less fortunate than us...especially in connection to food?
I think we should teach them to the plant cultivation method like former Bhutan.
Only supporting their food problem by giving our foods will become plunder problem.
But there are many bad places for growing food grain.
I think this is the most problem that we should find the solution by our technology.
We should thanks to all opportunities when we can eat foods and should not leave foods after eating foods.
