Hello!
I'm continue to reading "Food Ethics".
Today I will introduce a video related to my book.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pT0SwNXIsmo
In this video, many facts about food ethics in America are showed.
In the first half, McDonald's was introduced as an example of American food ethics. McDonald's growned a big food company today. For this growth, they had many developments. (ex. to have almost same menu around the world etc)
In the Middle half, the theme was changed to "How is this making people sick?"
These days foods are very related to be sick. Food is a essential for our body, so it's closely connect to us. Food poisoning caused many people sick in a short period time. The FDA(U.S. Food and Drug Administration) conducted foods safety.
Next theme is "Diabetes and Obesity". It showed us 99% of products at the super market are foreign products. There are 76 millions case of foodborne illness in America.(325.000 hospitalized, 5,000 death) Fast or processed food accout for American foods. It have the "fat" problem, too. This is the problem caused by McDonalds's, too.
In the last section of this video, the solutions are showed. People should eat locally grown foods. For this thing, the education is important for teaching children to what appropriate foods for us.
I think these education is need in Japan, too. Food poisoning are familiar problem from before. We should more careful about what we eat.

NeverSeconds
Hello! Winter will become soon, we should have more warmer ourselves and take care of not to cause cold.
Today I will analyze a blog "NeverSeconds".
http://neverseconds.blogspot.jp/
What do you think of Martha Payne and what she accomplished?
I was very surprised at the writer of this blog is a little girl!
The content was too enrich and she accomplished to realize us food's importance and priceless things in our lives.
What are your memories of your school lunches?
I'm in mind that a campaign that served old style school lunches when I was a elementary school student in Niigata, my hometown.
I ate fried whale and I remembered the taste was very good.
But now, eating whale in Japan is becoming a world problem.
I think this is very rare experience.
Did you feel that you had any input on the nature or quality of your school lunches?
I feel my elementary school had input on the nature.
I experienced rice and vegetable cultivation when I was two year student in it.
This is a good experience to know we eat foods by someone's efforts.
What do you think of the dining facilities at AGU and how do you think they can be improved?
I think it is too crowd in lunch time every day.
The reason is not to exploit adequately the space of cafeteria.
The menu is good, so I wish only the use of space.
What creative way(s) do you think we (individually or as AGU students) can help others in the world less fortunate than us...especially in connection to food?
I think we should teach them to the plant cultivation method like former Bhutan.
Only supporting their food problem by giving our foods will become plunder problem.
But there are many bad places for growing food grain.
I think this is the most problem that we should find the solution by our technology.
We should thanks to all opportunities when we can eat foods and should not leave foods after eating foods.

Hello!
It's getting colder these days.
We should take care of our health.
I'm continue reading "Food Ethnics", I understood a little about the history of food ethnics and what is it.
I read one section "Food Ethnics and Reality".
In this section, many professionals were introduced and defined their thought about food ethnics.
Their jobs are very various ; professor, agricultural scientist, the Trade officer etc.
They have different thought for food culture.
It was wrote concisely that they thought about the ralationship of food ethnics in our lives from way back.
This is interesting that the differences of theories ; scientifically idea, philosophycal idea etc.
I want to find the common point of those different theories in reading this book.
I'm in the second section "Food Ethnics and Utopia" now.
I knew people in old century wanted any utopia in food for salvation.
